John and Narelle M_edited.jpg

John Melville

I’m very blessed to be a follower of Jesus and married to Narelle. We have two adult children, Daniel (married to Elle) and Bethany (married to John) and two grandsons—both are 19 months old and super cute—the joy of our lives!  I am mostly retired from secular work, but still active in industrial property development and management. However, most of my time is spent in Christian Ministry as a pastor/elder at Faith Community Church Buderim, and various other positions with local charities and international aid/mission work. I have a passion for teaching the Bible and seeing how the gospel transforms lives. I have had the privilege of working in various roles during my working life, including accountant, IT consultant, systems analyst, programmer, financial controller, business owner, CEO, and executive chairman. I have also had the privilege of travelling extensively both in Australia and overseas, including to Kenya annually since 2009, with a mission/aid group. Since 2000, Narelle and I have been hosting periodic Biblelands tours to Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, and Greece.  I like to spend my spare time with family and friends, studying the Bible, reading books, going out on the surf-ski, occasional bike riding and jet-skiing and of course, travelling.

My messages will be titled

  1. Finding our Purpose in God’s Plan

  2. Finding our Place in God’s Family

  3. Finding our Peace in God’s Promises

Peter Dean

I have been married for 15 years to Melita and we have 3 children together, Micah (11), Elijah (9) and Lily (7). I have worked most my life as a mechanic but for the last 5 years I have been employed by TAFE as an automotive teacher. My church is village avenue community church where I have attended for about 20 years now and where I also serve on the music ministry as a singer and am a leader in our high school youth group on a Friday night.

My message topics are:

  1. Why does God allow bad things to happen

  2. What can we do when hard times come
